Visually stunning but terrifyingly plausible. The sound design alone deserves an award — the silence between shots does more work than most films manage in two hours, and Garland trusts you to sit in it. The press-pass framing keeps it from ever becoming a thriller about soldiers, which is the whole point.

Ten hours and not one wasted scene. It respects the audience enough to leave the subtitles on and let the politics breathe.
